You GEt Bears

We are a group of students and parents from the Northern Virginia Experimental Chinese School (ECS). We believe service learning should start at an early stage and help our children to become good citizens as adults.

We have volunteered at a Senior center once a month for over 5 years now. The monthly event includes many different programs such as various instrument performances, singing, dancing, exercising, YoYo, fun activities, Chinese fun shows, etc.

Each year we host a Lunar New Year celebration event in the community's library and senior center. There are a lots of fun activities in this special event, such as lantern making, Chinese games, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese dance and music, etc.

Each year we train a group of ECS High School students to learn and practice their leadership skills in different projects. Each of them has the opportunity to be in charge of a designated project or a project of their own. They will receive a ECS leadership certificate when they graduate from this program.

We plan and execute different fundraising events for charity and non-profit organizations. We will also use the funds to donate food and support other non-profit organization events. If you are interested to donate funds, please contact us at volunteer contacts.
